Capella Toolbar Feature List This page describes the features of the Capella Toolbar. When in edit mode the toolbar can be docked along the top of the screen or floating to be positioned anywhere out of the way. Save - Ctrl S
This will save any changes you have made to the editable regions of your pages. Note: Saving does not publish the page. If you wish to view the changes you have made after a save, you need to also publish the site from the Capella management console.
Cancel
This will allow you to exit edit mode without saving any of the changes. Bold Text - Ctrl B
This should be a familiar item to you already. But if not, this is the bold tool. You can put emphasis on specific words or paragraphs by using this tool to Bold it. Italic - Ctrl I
Need to illustrate a point with italics. Just highlight the word(s) and click the italic button to make the text appear like this. Underline - Ctrl U
Emphasis text with an underline. Strike-through
If you need display something a word or sentence to be crossed out strike-through will do just that

Align Right
Or, if you have a larger paragraph, with many words and want it to be presented with even edges left and right you can use the justification tool. This paragraph has been justified using this tool.
Here is an example of a paragraph that does not use the justification tool. See how the right margin of this text wraps unevenly. Justification adds spaces between the words to even place the text, where as not using it, leaves a standard size space of one character. Bullet Points (unordered list)

Indent Paragraph
This tool allows you to indent a paragraph of text. Just like this paragraph has been indented. You can use this tool more than once to push the indent further.
Outdent Paragraph
This tool is the opposite of using the indent tool, and can only be used to reverse an indent back to normal. Undo - Ctrl Z
This tool will undo changes that you have made. EG: If you have just written a paragraph of text and don't like it, click undo to remove it. Undo will keep undoing tasks back to when you opened the file. You can not perform an undo operation after a save. Redo - Ctrl Y
This tool will redo and undo. Insert / Edit Hyperlink
This tool allows you to add a link to a selection of text or an image. When inserting a link you have the option of internal links, external links (other websites) or to open the link in a new browser window. Examples... Unlink
This tool will remove a link from a selection of text or image etc.
Superscript
This tool allows you to modify a selection of text by making it Superscript. Like the 2 in this example E=MC2 or the rd in this one 3rd. Subscript
This works in similar fashion to Superscript but is subscript, like so... H2O Insert Custom Character
This tool allows you to insert all types of symbols like... © ® ™ ¶ ¤ £ » ° ♣ ♥ ♦ ÷ to name a few. Cleanup messy code
Beneath any website is a jumble of code that tells items on the page how to look and where to be. This is called HTML. When inserting, deleting or moving things on a page the code can often get messy and increase the file size of a page reducing its loading speed. This tool can cleanup code that may be duplicated or redundant. Edit HTML Source
This tool is best for advanced users. It opens a new window and displays the page in code view. The page can be edited in HTML mode.
Text Colour
This tool opens a colour dialog and allows you to change the colour of a selected block of text. Text Background Colour
This tool opens a colour dialog and allows you to set the background colour of a selected block of text. Paint Bucket
Similar to the Text Background Colour this tool will highlight the background colour of an entire paragraph and extend the colour to the edge of the margins. |

Spell Checker
Don't worry if your spelling is not up to scratch, Capella is complete with a live spell checker. Just like Microsoft Word, if the spell checker doesn't recognise a word it will underline it with a red . Clicking on the word will list other possible matches.
Format Paragraph
This tool lists pre-formatted styles for different areas, like paragraphs headings etc. Rather than having to individually alter the font size and boldness etc, you can select from a variety of styles ready to use. The list of pre-formatted styles will be set-up and configured as part of your original site design. This way the content of your site will fit in with its design and your company image.
Font Family Allows you to change the font type for the selected word(s). Keep in mind when using this tool that the person viewing your site must have the same font on their computer to see the font style you select. The fonts listed within Capella uses a selection of the most common fonts found on most computers.
Font Size Allows you to alter the size of the highlighted text. To make life easier though, we recommended you try some of the pre-formatted sizes in the Format tool.
Cut - Ctrl X
This tool allows you to cut pictures, or sections of text from the page. By using the cut tool rather than the delete key, you can paste what you have cut into other parts of the page or site. Items cut from the page are stored on your computers clipboard until overwritten by another cut or copy command. Copy - Ctrl C
This tool will copy the selected text or image and store it on your computers clipboard until overwritten with a cut or copy command. Once copied it can be pasted onto the page or elsewhere within your site.
Paste - Ctrl V
This tool allows you to paste content at the placement of the cursor after a cut or copy command. Paste as plain text
This tool allows you to copy text that is formatted (EG: coloured, bold etc) and paste it with the formatting removed. This is handy if you wish to apply your own styles to the text other than what it already had. Paste from Word
This tool allows you to paste text into your site that already has styles applied (EG: bold colour - table layouts etc) and keep it the same. Select All - Ctrl A
This tool simply selects everything within the editable region. Insert Table
This tool inserts a new table, like so... Data 1

Tables are helpful for displaying information that needs to be laid out in columns etc. Tables can have different styles applied to them, and individual cells can also have styles applied. A table has many other options once inserted from the right click menu. Remove Formatting
This tool is handy if a particular section of text has many types of formatting. EG: Colour, Background Colour, Font Style, Bold etc. Simply select the text you wish to remove the formatting for and click this button. It will set it back to default. Toggle Guides / Invisible Elements
When in edit mode certain lines or icons may be displayed to show you boundaries of hidden elements. This tool toggles them on or off. An example of a hidden element is an Anchor (or bookmark) which will display this icon ( ) to tell you that the text beside it has an anchor attached. Information about the anchor is below. This tool is sometimes referred to as the bookmark tool. This allows you to set regions on a page that can be linked to. It allows the page to scroll up or down to regions of the page from a link. EG: This link has been setup for demonstration purposes to take you to the information about the Font Size. Find
If you have a large page of text and want to find a specific word or section, you can use the find tool. A dialog opens that allows you to enter the text you wish to find. Find and Replace
This tool opens a dialog that allows you to enter text that you wish to replace with another word. It will search through the editable page and replace all words with your new text, matching the find text. Insert Horizontal Line
This will insert a horizontal line at the cursor like so...

Insert File LinkThis tool allows you to upload files other than images and link to them. An example of this is linking to a PDF or Word document etc. Edit CSS Styles
This tool allows advanced formatting of page items with the ability to modify almost any attribute for each page element.
